Working our asses out. Like, really.

Although we might appear not be doing much at the moment, we have actually started working on 14 new songs, one of which clocks at  a pretty unreasonable 16 minutes. Working on a new album – possibly a double – while you still have to finish and start promoting the previous one is just plain crazy and that’s exactly why we like the idea so much. Temporary title of the thing: “Pork”, a little taste of the new songs here. It’s called Eileen and yeah, it talks about Livefast’s wife. Everybody has a sweet spot somewhere, right?

we’re not really from london, but close enough if you look at it from japan

I wrote a post on my Italian weblog. It’s about finishing things in general and records specifically. If you don’t speak Italian (which according to this blog’s statistics is not exactly likely), here’s what it says according to a popular free internet translation service:

The important is to end.

I have passed the last months to make a disc – a disc, we say demo, an only longer, demo along as a disc – and must say that it is a experience that prosciuga. Because it does not absorb as well as time, at the end we will have been in study how much? Thirty? Forty hours? It is that the head fills up you: it is not more what you make, is what you are, you sound and you risuona in the brain till that you do not know more not to say if you like it or not. At the end guitars and assorted voices and noises are alone by vol. high: after sure numbers of listenings you piacciono by force, also for the habit of the ear to only feel them, you cannot more say some or think some null about sensato. And insomma they are content to be to us nearly: still little ritocchi and then enough, more is sealed, is not touched, as it has come has come. We only hope to scandalize some old woman and to scroccare a little of beers. The rest we will make us to go well. Long live rock n’roll“.

put everything in a mixer and turn it into a smoothie

mixing stuff is turning out to be a complicated task, partly chemistry, part magic. we love it, but we can never never happy with the results: there’s virtually no limit to the number of things you can try and how can you say it’s perfect until you tried ‘em all? you can’t, that’s the problem. anyway, at month end we release, first on the web, then we’ll see. record companies are not exactly lining up before our door, but really, these days, who does even want to have a label? shouldn’t we rather found our own? as said, we’ll see: for now only the music matters. thanks to all who have been with us for free when we were nothing. we’ll make it up to you some day. promise.

now that the tapes have rolled

okay, we’re done. all tracks have been recorded (but the trumpets, which will be added later on) and we’re so ready to mix & master. exact release date TBA real soon. thanks to our special guest marcello bertani who recorded some amazing vocals today.

hair, earphones, laughs & pump the goddam volume up

we actually don’t care much about anything (molecole, 02.22.2012)

higher forms of noise // rec sessions IV

in about six hours all guitars were recorded, overdubbed, smoothened out and put back in their cases. next sunday (feb 26th) a full-day session with the whole band and the producers to add vocals and backing vocals, then we wrap and we’re off to mixing. on time like a train in the days of mussolini (and as full of shit).

recording sessions / 3

day 3 – actually night 3 – in the studio was very fruitful: 4 songs were wrapped and 3 more made substantial steps towards being finished. it looks like we’ll be mixing sometime in late february, as expected. one thing we can tell for sure at this point: making a record is the most fun you can have without using your penis. or vagina.

you can trust us.

Preview!

this is how The ballad of Lindsay Lohan sounds after the basic keyboard overdubs have been added. all other sounds yet to mix and smoothen out. coming together nicely anyway.
